What does it mean to be authorized to offer AARP-endorsed products* through New York Life?

To become an agent who is authorized to offer AARP-endorsed products through New York Life, I was required to go through a rigorous process established by these two distinguished organizations. To gain this status, I had to:

  1. Be an experienced and successful agent;
  2. Be in good standing with the company and in my community;
  3. Come highly recommended by my immediate manager;
  4. Take additional training on AARP members and the general needs of the 50+ population; and
  5. Agree to periodic evaluations by both AARP and New York Life.

Only select agents can be part of the program. Agents who are “authorized to offer” approach every interaction with integrity, put the needs of members first, stay up-to-date on what is happening in the insurance and financial services industries and have a strong commitment to their communities. I am proud to be an “authorized to offer” agent.
